Habeas Corpus (Beginner)

This will be an interactive, conversational session for those with little or no knowledge of federal habeas corpus practice. The session will be designed to be fluid so that it can address the specific interests and needs of attendees. Likely topics will include habeas basics, such as what a petition looks like, how the supporting memo works, prerequisites to seeking relief such as custody, and some basic concepts like federalization, exhaustion, default, harmless error and retroactivity.
