Gloria Killian

Gloria Killian was released from prison on August 8, 2002 after serving 17 ½ years on a sentence of 32 years to life for a crime that she did not commit; she was charged with the death penalty. In March 2002, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned her conviction, determining that it was based solely on perjured testimony. In 2008, Christopher Cleland, the District Attorney who prosecuted her, was found guilty of unethical conduct in her case by the State Bar of California. Ms. Killian is the Executive Director of Action Committee for Women in Prison (ACWIP) and has written a book about her experiences, Full Circle.
