Karen Daniel

Karen L. Daniel is a clinical professor of law and Director of Northwestern Law School's Center on Wrongful Convictions, which seeks to identify and rectify serious miscarriages of justice as well as educate and advocate regarding the need for criminal justice reform.  As a clinician, she teaches and supervises second- and third-year law students in various types of post-conviction proceedings on behalf of convicted defendants who have claims of innocence.  Since joining the Center in the fall of 2000, Ms. Daniel has successfully represented numerous wrongfully convicted clients in state court, federal court, and in clemency proceedings and has achieved exonerations in both DNA and non-DNA cases.
