Kimberly Long was an ER nurse and a single mother. In October 2003, she came home and found her boyfriend on her couch, beaten to death. One month later, she was arrested for his murder. After two trials, she was found guilty and sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. She left behind a 17-old-year daughter and a 12-year-old son. She served 7 years and 3 months in California State prisons. With the help of the California Innocence Project, she was released on June 10, 2016.
