Marty Tankleff was released from his wrongful incarceration on December 27, 2007, after 6,338 days of imprisonment. Weeks after his release, Mr. Tankleff continued his college education at Hofstra University where he received a bachelor’s degree in sociology. Following Hofstra, he obtained his juris doctorate at Touro College where he established the Wrongful Conviction Externship program that pairs students with law firms working on wrongful conviction cases. Mr. Tankleff regularly speaks at colleges, universities, and high schools. He is currently an Innocence Project Advisory Committee Board Member, a CURE NY Advisory Committee Member, and Vice President of Absolutely Innocent. He is awaiting results from the Uniform Bar Exam and looks forward to exonerating innocent men and women around the country.
