Michael Morton

Michael Morton was wrongfully convicted of the 1986 murder of his wife Christine. He spent almost twenty-five years in prison before being exonerated in 2011 through the efforts of the Innocence Project, pro bono lawyer John Raley, and advances in DNA technology. Michael wants to help prevent what happened to him from happening to others, and has worked with lawmakers who passed legislation known as the Michael Morton Act, codifying exactly how and when Texas prosecutors must share information with a defendant. Michael and his wife Cynthia live in Texas, relishing and appreciating what others may take for granted.
